Privacy Policy

In God’s Presence (“the app”) is made by Laura Pipper, Germany (“we”, “us”).

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: what you write stays on your phone. We have no server that receives it, and we cannot read it.

1. What stays on your phone

Everything you create in the app is stored only on your device:

This information is protected by your phone’s own encryption. It is never sent to us. We do not have accounts, and we do not operate a server that stores user data.

Speech-to-text. If you choose to dictate, your speech is turned into text on your device only. If your phone cannot do this on the device, the app does not transcribe rather than send your voice anywhere.

2. What leaves your phone, and why

Backups — only if you turn them on

You can back up your data to your own iCloud (on iPhone) or your own Google Drive (on Android), or save a backup file wherever you choose. Every backup is encrypted on your phone with a password only you know (PBKDF2-SHA256 and XChaCha20-Poly1305) before it leaves the device. We never receive your backups or your password, and neither we, Apple nor Google can read their contents.

iCloud backups are stored in the app’s area of your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit), under your own Apple account. The app does not read your name, email address or any other iCloud data. You can turn iCloud backups off at any time in Settings → Profile & Data → Backup.

For Google Drive backups the app asks Google for access to a hidden app-data folder in your Drive (drive.appdata scope). It cannot see your other Drive files, and it does not read your name or email address. You can disconnect at any time in Settings → Profile & Data → Backup, which also revokes the app’s access.

Subscriptions

Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store (and, on Android, Google Play). We use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to check whether your subscription is active. To do this RevenueCat receives a random, anonymous app user identifier, your purchase and subscription history, and basic device information (such as platform and app version). It does not receive anything you write in the app. We never receive your payment card details.

App updates

The app does not download updates by itself. New versions come only through the App Store or Google Play.

3. What we do not do

4. Permissions

5. How long information is kept

Data on your phone stays until you delete it, use Settings → Profile & Data → Erase all data, or uninstall the app. Backups in your iCloud, your Google Drive or in files you saved stay until you delete them; the app keeps at most one automatic backup per day for 30 days and removes older ones. RevenueCat keeps purchase records as required for subscription management and by law.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal data about you. Because we hold no personal data on our own servers, most of these rights you exercise directly in the app. For data held by RevenueCat in connection with your purchases, contact us at laurapdevv@gmail.com and we will handle your request. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Children

The app is intended for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.

9. This website
